Why Membership?

The BSA is comprised of companies in the ready-mix concrete industry, cement industry, lumber companies and block and masonry companies, as well as building material supply companies.  Our association actually began in 1913 and has served this industry ever since.

On the national level, the BSA is a member of the National Ready Mix Concrete Association, as well as the National Lumber Building Material Association.

Members of our association enjoy many benefits including reduced rates of office forms (i.e. invoices, order forms, etc.), a drug testing consortium, educational classes to keep you and your employees up to date on current trends, as well as a network consisting of others in the ready-mix/construction field.  In addition we are the American Concrete Institute Sponsorship Group for West Virginia and administer and conduct all ACI courses in the State.  We offer group dental, vision insurance, group health, along with short-term and long-term disability, property and casualty Section 125 Flex Spending.

As a member, you will also have representation at the state and federal levels of government that will keep you abreast of any changes that will affect your company and its operations.  Further, the association also helps with educating the public about the industry.

Each year we hold an annual convention for all members.  This is a great time to network with other representatives from the industry, as well as learn more about what is new in the market.  A golf outing is also held each year, usually in late summer.

We produce a directory and buyers guide which as a member, you would be listed.  Also, your company’s contact information will be listed on our website.  Both of these are powerful resources for other members, as well as consumers.   Both of these resources are currently being updated for more efficient use.  In addition your sales items may also be featured on our website in the BSA Marketplace section, in this area you will be offered the ability to have items updated monthly.

During the past year our association has began an “educational direction” to promote concrete by providing the necessary working tools and education to accompany the product.  This has lead to a great working relationship with the West Virginia Department of Highways and both the Architects and Engineers throughout the State.

We feel you will find our association worth joining and I hope that you will consider becoming a member of our organization as it has many benefits for your company.
